I wouldn’t ordinarily say this, but should we actually watch tomorrow’s two-hour special featuring Nadya Suleman, the California Octomom, who gave birth to a litter of eight babies, and is clearly trying to create a media career as well?It may take a village to raise a child, but it may take a lucrative TV contract to raise 14 of them!Yes, we understand that reality TV is all the rage, but is this actually reality? I doubt it.Please tell us that we are not so desperate a society for diversions that we’d shower our attention on a woman so addicted to childbirth, and avoid work and responsibility.

American Idol producers have finally settled on a replacement for Paula Abdul, and the result is surprising!Ellen DeGeneres revealed to studio audiences members at her talk show yesterday that she would be replacing Paula Abdul as the fourth judge. She also assured them that she would still be keeping her day job. Ellen will be joining fellow judges Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, and Kara DioGuardi. She will not be joining the show until the final rounds, after the audition and Hollywood rounds have been completed.

DIRECTV is going under fire for the terms of their early cancellation fees. If you are a Dish Network customer, consider yourself lucky that you are not in the same boat as some DIRECTV consumers. The satellite TV provider requires that consumers sign a two-year commitment when they sign up for new service. There used to be a 12-month commitment with standard equipment, but that was upgraded to an 18-month commitment and soon after that raised to two-years.

It’s a little late, but here’s my “Big Brother” recap for Tuesday August 25th. And just a reminder, for Dish Network customers in the Boston area, “Big Brother” airs on CBS which is channel 4.So Jeff has nominated Kevin and Natalie, but he has assured them both that they are pawns and that the real target is Russell. Russell is walking around the house paranoid, and rightfully so, because both Jeff and Jordan are acting weird around him, despite their claims that everything is still going according to plan. Jeff is still upset over what Kevin told him (that Russell said he’s going after Jeff next.)
Well it appears that it’s finally official: Neve Campbell will be back for Scream 4.It’s been nine years since the last Scream film hit theaters (Scream 3 bowed in February of 2000.) Ever since then, there has been speculation that a fourth film would be produced. The third film left off with the three leads – Campbell, David Arquette, and Courtney Cox-Arquette – alive and happy.
Now for the record, let’s make something clear right up front – when I was younger, I was terrified of horror movies. Even though I never watched them, just the idea of them would freak me out.I grew up in a small town, and I can still see myself wandering one of the six or seven aisles at our local video stores (VHS anyone?) and glancing across the cover art on the front of any given horror movie.
I LoveYou Man is now available on Dish Network, and if you are a fan of such movies as The 40-Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up, Superbad, or Pineapple Express, then you will not be disappointed with this movie.I caught this movie on Friday night and it’s definitely one of the better comedies I’ve seen in the last couple of years. It doesn’t top The Hangover or Stepbrothers, but I still had a good time with this movie, and my laughs were pretty consistent throughout. The movie centers on Paul Rudd’s character Peter Klaven, a real estate agent who has managed to go through his life without forging many strong friendships with other men.
I’ve always viewed the Final Destination movies as the horror movie genre’s equivalent of fast food. They’re quick and gruesome entries into the genre with over-the-top creative kills and a fast pace. The first movie, which was released in 2000, was the first to introduce the idea of a group of people escaping death, only to have the Grim Reaper circle back around and claim them anyway. It had a modest box office take, and 3 years later came the sequel, which still remains my favorite of the series.

Two remakes of popular shows from the 90’s are putting the CW on the map. Last season they rebooted “Beverly Hills 90210” (now simply titled “90210”) and this season kicked off with a perfect companion – the reboot of “Melrose Place.” The two shows ran on Fox together back in the 90’s, and were both two of Fox’s biggest ratings hits at the time.
